Uvjerljivo najgori Shadow efekt ima Treachery karta Sleeping Sentry iz Road to Rivendel AP (2. AP iz Dwarrowdelf ciklusa), a i When revealed je dosta poguban:

When Revealed: Deal 1 damage to each exhausted character. Then, exhaust all ready characters.
Shadow: Defending player must discard all exhausted characters he controls.
Ima ih 2 u decku, recimo prvu uspiješ poništiti, al te druga dokrajči, jer nemaš više čime braniti napade. Srećom s novim proširenjima dolaze i brojne karte za rješavanje ili ublažavanje When Revealed i Shadow efekata.
Recimo, dosta je zanimljiv saveznik
Rider of the Mark iz istog proširenja:

Uz tri takva u igri i dovoljno resursa, rješavaš se shadow karata dosta jeftino i još drugom igraču daješ dosta dobrog saveznika. A Rohan postaje sve jači, pa ovaj saveznik postaje lijep poklon
A imaš par Shadow efekata (iz Khazad-Duma) koji te potiču na nebranjene napade, tj. bolje prođeš ako ne braniš napad:
Sudden Pitfall - Shadow: Discard the defending character from play.
Undisturbed Bones - Shadow: If the defending character is an ally, discard it from play.
Ma zabavna je igra kakve nam sve nepodopštine dizajneri smisle.
